Description
This dataset contains estimates of the terrestrial biogenic CO2 exchange between the land surface and the atmosphere, called Net Ecosystem Exchange (NEE). NEE is defined negative when more CO2 is taken from the atmosphere into the land surface than the other way around. The NEE estimates serve as prior estimates in the atmospheric inversions in ITMS module M.

Future efforts will customize these simulations in various aspects, e.g. regarding the training domain, predictor variables, and Earth observations, as well as possible coordination with complementary process-based simulations by KIT.
